After months of speculation Dana White has officially confirmed that The Ultimate Fighter Season 14 coaches will be Michael Bisping and Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller.

The UFC had originally been holding out for Bisping to face Chael Sonnen, but after his license was again suspended by the California State Athletic Commission they were forced to look elsewhere.

Under the circumstances ‘Mayhem’ is an excellent replacement. Recently signed from Strikeforce, he, Like Sonnen he has ‘the gift of the gab’ and due to the fact he also has some mainstream recognition thanks to fronting the ‘Bully Beatdown’ show on MTV, there could be some crossover appeal here from casual fans.

‘Mayhem’ also has a knack of finding trouble, such as when he stepped into the cage at Strikeforce: Nashville last year live on CBS to challenge Jake Shields and ended up sparking off a riot that lead to a long-running feud with Nick Diaz.

That should make things interesting, particularly as Michael Bisping is easily wound up as he showed the last time he coached on the show opposite Dan Henderson.

Mayhem had been campaigning to be a coach on the show before he even made the switch to the UFC, but initially he was set for a relatively low-key introduction back to the promotion in a preliminary bout with Aaron Simpson at UFC 132. That bout has now been scrapped though.

Filming for the new season is expected to begin in June, and of course once the season is over Bisping and Miller will fight in the Octagon before the year is out.
