Earlier this year Michael Bisping appeared on the co-main event of the UFC’s first event in Australia against Wanderlei Silva and according to the Brit when the promotion returns to Sydney in February of next year he’ll be headlining the show.

Bisping reveals the news during his latest video blog.

“I know I’m fighting in Australia – Sydney, I’m looking forward to going back there again. Main event is what I’m led to believe so I’m very, very excited about that.”

After his fight with Alessio Sakara was canceled at the last minute at UFC 122 Jorge Rivera claimed that he would now be fighting Bisping in Australia, but according to ‘The Count’ he’s not heard anything about that so far.

“Obviously a certain someone who was supposed to fight recently but didn’t has been talking sh*t about me, says that we’re going to fight soon. I don’t know if that is to be the case or not. I haven’t spoke to my manager, obviously he’s very busy with Rampage [at UFC 123] at the moment. So, I’m keen to find out exactly who my next fight’s going to be.”

There’s been a rumor that Bisping isn’t exactly enamored with the idea of fighting Rivera and had been hoping for a bigger name opponent, but if that’s the case he didn’t say so on the blog.

Later on the blog Bisping reveals that he’s currently suffering from a staph infection on his arm, but he’s now on the mend and hopes to get back into training next week.
