Miguel Torres Is Back In The UFC

UFC president Dana White confirmed today following the UFC 141 pre-fight presser that bantamweight star Miguel Angel Torres has been welcomed back to the promotion.

Torres was fired from the company earlier this month after posting a number of jokes regarding the subject of rape on his Twitter account.

Fans protested that what the former WEC 135lb champion had written was no worse than several other fighters had either said or written in the past, but in the aftermath of the incident White was not willing to go back on his decision.

For his part Torres took responsibility for his actions in an open letter posted on his website, and vowed to learn from his mistakes.

“He handled his business like a man, and no one told him to do it,” White commented today, revealing that the fighter had also made a donation to a local rape treatment center and attended sensitivity classes.

As a result, Torres, who’s currently 2-1 in the UFC and 40-4 overall in his MMA career, will get a second chance.
