Yesterday Nate Marquardt’s suspension was lifted by the Pittsburgh State Athletic Commission, meaning that his testosterone levels have fallen within normal boundaries and he is now able to resume his fighting career, though it appears that the door back to the UFC remains firmly shut.

Marquardt has yet to decide where he will now fight, but he has taken time out to fire back at a number of his fellow prefessionals who have been critical of his use of Testosterone Replacement Therapy and have made it clear that they want to fight him.

“Some of the fighters that think they’re so cool and tough by kicking a guy when he’s down – as far as my career, this has been one of the worst times of my life, and these guys are calling me a cheater and talking crap – I’ve taken note as to who those guys are, and I’m going to come for them,” Marquardt told MMAJunkie. “Eventually, I’ll get them. I don’t care if it’s in a superfight or if they want to come down to my gym. I’ll beat them up for free.”

And Marquardt isn’t afraid to name names either.

“I think you know who these guys are – Ben Askren, B.J. Penn, Paul Daley, Hector Lombard, cowards talking crap about a guy when he’s in such a situation. They’re trying to take advantage of the situation. They’re bullies. Those are the guys I want to beat up.”

A fight with Penn seems out of the question given that UFC president Dana White has vowed never to allow Marquardt back into the promotion, but the other fights could take place depending on where he ends up.

Both Askren and Lombard are champions at Bellator who have already admitted they are interested in obtaining Marquardt’s services, but Strikeforce have also claimed that they are closing on a big name welterweight fighter who will challenge for their vacant 170lb belt, and Marquardt would certainly fit the bill there with Daley being the obvious choice as his replacement.
