Former UFC fighter Nate Marquardt’s current suspension has now been lifted by the Pittsburgh State Athletic Commission after he was able to prove that his testosterone levels have now fallen back within accepted boundaries.
Marquardt had originally been suspended on the day of the weigh-ins prior to UFC On Versus 4 after testing over the limit which he claimed occured due to a miscalculation on the part of his doctor regarding his prescribed dosage of Testosterone Replacement Therapy.
““Nate is no longer restricted from fighting in any jurisdiction and is looking forward to competing in mixed martial arts again as soon as possible,” read a statement from Marquardt’s management released today.
Despite the suspension being lifted Marquardt remains exiled from the UFC, but hopefully today’s news might speed up the process of him finding a new promotion to call home.
So far Bellator appear to be the front-runners, though Strikeforce could also be a possibility and the likes of DREAM and the newly reformed ProElite promotion are also outside bets.
