A new interview with Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko is not usually the first place you’d look to get a good laugh (unless your particularly tickled by his choice of jumpers), but thanks to the world’s worst translator ‘The Last Emperor’s’ new interview on Russian tv station ‘Russia Today’ had me in stitches today.

The first sign that the translator is having a bad day comes almost immediately when he says in his posh voice-over tone, “…I was training for my fight with George Barnet.”

Ah yes, that well known mixed martial artist George Barnet – he’s much better than that Josh Barnett fellow!

The translator is however just warming up. Behold what he has to say when Fedor is asked if he was friends with any fighters a little later in the interview.

“We sat and talked on many occasions with…Kevin Rudlebam, Mark Coleman, Don Henderson, and with many others,” he says before adding,“…I’m quite friendly with George Barnet.”

Well at least he got Mark Coleman right, that’s got to count for something, right?  kevin Randlemann and Dan Henderson’s feelings might be a little hurt though.

Make sure to watch the full interview below as it is pretty solid apart from the obvious gaffs. If you can’t be bothered to watch the whole thing then fast forward to 7.54mins to hear the late contender for quote of the year.
