After Thiago Silva was forced to pull out of his UFC 117 bout with Tim Boetsch due to injury the UFC have drafted in new signing Todd Brown to replace him.

‘Bulldog’ Brown holds a record of 11-1 as a professional, while fighting mainly for Ultimate Throwdown and the Michigan Fight League.  According to the fighter he was approached by the UFC just two days ago.

“I was ready to sign,” Brown tells MMAfighting.  “This is the result of a lot of work. My game will be the same no matter who I fight.”

That’s just as well since Brown will have less than two weeks to prepare for his promotional debut on August 7th in Oakland, California.  The fight will take place on the preliminary portion of the fight card.
