In November of 2007 Nick Diaz was left angry and frustrated after his fight with KJ Noons was stopped at the end of the first round due to a cut above his eye.
The defeat remains the only loss on his record in the past four a half years, and Diaz is relishing the chance to settle the score with Noons on Saturday night in the Strikeforce cage.
“I’m just happy to get this show on the road, you know? This guy’s finally ready to fight me so I just want a chance to actually get a fair chance to fight.”
Diaz is willing to accept that the rematch might not go his way this time round either, but all he wants is a chance to find out.
“Win or lose I just wanna fight for real. If I’m gonna lose can I lose for real, you know? I’m ready for my ass-whoopin’ if I’mma take my ass-whoopin’ then I’m ready, you know? But let me take my ass-whoopin’ if that’s how it’s gonna be. I’m ready for that, I was born for that, I get paid for that.”
