The UFC have announced that February’s welterweight interim title fight between Nick Diaz and Carlos Condit will be getting it’s own ‘UFC Primetime’ show.

This will be the 8th edition of the series, but the first to air on FX. After a special one-off edition for the Velasquez Vs Dos Santos fight last year the Diaz Vs Condit edition will revert back to the traditional 3 x 1 hour format building up to the fight at UFC 143 on February 4th.

The first episode will air on Friday, January 20th at 11pm ET on FX and will give fans a chance to go behind the scenes as the two fighters prepare for the biggest fight of their careers.

In the past the Primetime show has often focused on the UFC’s established stars like GSP (who’s appeared three times), Rampage Jackson / Rashad Evans and Brock Lesnar.

The UFC needs to build new superstars though and a show like this on FX can certainly help in that regard so it’s nice to see them digging a little deeper here and picking Diaz and Condit to put under the spotlight as their certainly worthy of the exposure.
