Now Michael Chiesa Vs Marcus LeVesseur Has Been Pulled From UFC On FOX 5 Prelims

In the wake of a heavyweight bout between Brendan Schaub and Levar Johnson at ‘UFC On FOX 5’ being scrapped, Michael Chiesa Vs Marcus LeVesseur was promoted to be the lead fight on the prelims, but now it’s been cancelled too.

The reason is that Chiesa, winner of ‘The Ultimate Fighter 15’ has taken ill and so he’s unable to compete at the event this Satuday night.

It’s an unfortunate situation to lose two significant fights from the preliminary card at this late stage, particularly given that it comes not long after it was announced that the undercard fights were being promoted from their traditional spot on Fuel TV to FX in order to help attract more viewers for the main card on FOX that will follow immediately afterwards.

Luckily for the UFC there is a fight between Scott Jorgensen and John Albert that’s currently set to air as a Facebook prelim that would be ideal to move up to the FX card to make up the numbers.  To be honest I’m surprised this bout wasn’t there to begin with.

As for a new headliner for the undercard, I’d personally opt for Yves Edwards Vs Jeremy Stephens which should prove to be an entertaining lead-in to the main event.

So far the strong main card line-up for this event has remained intact and injury-free and hopefully it can remain so during fight week so that the promotion can have a good chance of ending their debut year on FOX on a high.
