In a last-minute announcement it has been confirmed that Alistair Overeem Vs Todd Duffee at Dynamite!! 2010 in the wee hours of this morning will be for the DREAM interim heavyweight title.

At first it wasn’t clear whether the fight would have title implications but Overeem had made it clear in his pre-fight interviews that fighting for the belt was a primary reason for him choosing to fight at the show in the first place.

The Dutch fighter hopes to add the DREAM belt to his other currently held titles in both Strikeforce and K-1, while Duffee will be aiming to seize his first ever major MMA belt after just eight professional fights.

Both fighters successfully weighed in for their heavyweight encounter in Japan earlier, with Overeem coming in at 260lbs while Duffee tipped the scales at 249lbs.
