It’s not every day that a welterweight prospect calls out former champion Matt Hughes..hold on in a minute…actually it IS seemingly an every day occurrence.  After UFC 103 Josh Koscheck was quick to suggest that he’d like a shot at Hughes, closely followed by Mike Swick who has since been paired off with Dan Hardy for UFC 105.

The latest fighter to join the trend is the UK’s Paul Daley who left the following comment on his Facebook status:

“To become a legend, you must first defeat a legend……Matt Hughes!!!, Where you at!!!???..UFC 107?????”

Hughes, a future UFC hall of famer who held the welterweight title belt on two seperate occasions, succesfully defending it seven times is currently in the twilight of his career despite signing a new deal with the UFC recently. With three losses in his last five fights, taking his career record to 43-7, Hughes is clearly now a target for many of the divisions young up and coming fighters looking to make a name for themselves.

Whether Paul Daley gets his wish remains to be seen.
