Paul Daley Reacts To Loss Against Nick Diaz

Paul Daley put on a valiant display last night in a hugely entertaining fight with Nick Diaz, giving the champion more problems striking than any other opponent in recent memory.

It wasn’t quite enough to enable him to seize the welterweight title though, and he eventually succumbed to a TKO loss just three seconds before the end of the first round.

While the UK Fighter stayed quiet following the fight, after having time to reflect he posted his thoughts this morning on Facebook.

“[I am] in good health. Some u win, some u lose. A little frustrating, I made mistakes I told myself I wouldn’t do. A little to rushed. Think the stoppage was early, especially with so little time left in the round. Now some timw off, a few holidays and some downtime. See what’s next. Team Semtex all day. Love u all….still, including the HATERS. Mwah.”

There have been some concerns over what might happen to Daley if he lost this fight given his strained relationship with Zuffa and in particular UFC President Dana White, but prior to last night’s fight his manager revealed that Daley still has another four fights left on his current deal, and they have been given assurances by the people that matter in the organization that this will be honored.

That’s good news as Daley still has plenty to offer in the Strikeforce cage, and personally I’d be more than happy to see a Diaz Vs Daley rematch at some point further down the road.

It’s also interesting to note that despite the bad blood that exists between Daley and Dana White, the UFC head honcho couldn’t help but commend the Brit on his performance.

“I give him all the respect in the world for that fight. They went to war!” White told a fan on Twitter.
