The Shark Fights 13 line-up continues to strengthen with the news that former UFC fighter Paul Daley has signed up to fight at the September 11th event in Texas.
No opponent has been announced for the dangerous striker, but Shark Fights have indicated a number of “marquee fighters” are being considered. Daley joins a host of familiar names who will compete on the show as the promotion looks to reach a wider audience as it approaches it’s 2nd birthday in October.
Daley is currently awaiting news on a potential suspension from the Canadian authorities for his post-fight sucker punch of Josh Koscheck at UFC 113 in May which resulted in him being ejected from the UFC’s roster.
“I’m very excited to be fighting in the U.S. again. Despite my conduct during the Koscheck fight, which I agree is inexcusable; fans in the United States have been very supportive. For that I am very grateful,” Daley said.
The fighter recently notched up his first win since leaving the UFC, defeating Brazilian prospect Daniel Acacio in two rounds at Impact FC 2.
