July 30’s Strikeforce: Fedor Vs Henderson event has suffered a blow today with the news that Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos has pulled out of his fight for the vacant welterweight title with Paul Daley due to a shoulder injury sustained in training.

That’s a shame as this had all the makings of a barnburner, but the blow is softened a little bit by yesterday’s news that a worthy middleweight contest between Robbie Lawler and Tim Kennedy has now been confirmed for the event.

It’s believed that Strikeforce are also still hoping to keep Daley on the card, and are currently seeking out a suitable opponent for him.

At this stage however it is not known whether that opponent will challenge Daley for the belt vacated by Nick Diaz when he signed up to fight Georges St.Pierre in the UFC later this year.
