Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson surprised many earlier this year when he announced that he was to retire from his mixed martial arts career in order to break into the movie business. After watching a clip from his latest film ‘Death Warrior’ I’m left with the feeling that perhaps he shouldn’t have been quite so hasty in giving up his day job.
The film, which also stars other UFC fighters like Georges St.Pierre, Rashad Evans and Keith Jardine isn’t meant to be Shakespeare of course, as can quickly be gathered from reading the plot description.
“A gritty MMA fighter is forced into a twisted, underground gambling ring in which he must fight to the death with other MMA fighters in order to save his wife from certain death at the hands of a maniacal crime boss.”
Not a movie that’s likely to be receiving wide spread acclaim at next years Oscars then, but Rampage should be able to pull of a pretty good fight scene right?
Er…take a look for yourself, and prepare to adopt your best ‘WTF?’ expression…
…I did warn you. Of course Jackson has a far bigger role as B.A in the upcoming A-Team movie, but if this is anything to go by then expect Rampage to be back in the octagon where he belongs in 2010!
