The final episode of UFC Primetime: GSP Vs Condit aired on FX this past Friday night and produced a disappointing average of just 337,000 viewers.
Once again it aired at 11pm ET following ‘TUF 16’s’ latest episode which also suffered dire ratings, with just 643,000 viewers tuning in – the second lowest in the show’s history.
The Primetime ratings often slip from the first episode to last, and that’s certainly been the case here with the premiere having been watched by 629,000.
The particularly low number for Friday’s episode is a cause for concern though and could be an early warning sign that UFC 154’s pay-per-view numbers may not be as good as the promotion might be hoping for.
GSP is known to consistently do around 800,000 PPV buys which makes him the sport’s biggest draw, but unless the TV ratings we have so far are a red herring (it wouldn’t be the first time) it’s possible that may be a tall order to achieve this time around.
