Pro-Elite 2 To Be Headlined By Tim Sylvia Vs Pedro Rizzo

Two former UFC heavyweight stars Tim Sylvia and Pedro Rizzo will headlined Pro-Elite’s second event which takes place in Illinois on November 5th.

Despite both men being at one time an integral part of the UFC’s heaviest weight class the two men’s paths never crossed in the Octagon, with Rizzo starring in the UFC from October, 1998 – November, 2003, while Slyvia was on-board from September, 2002 – February, 2008.

Slyvia would become a two-time heavyweight champion during his run in the promotion, defeating the likes of Andrei Arlovski, Ricco Rodriguez, Jeff Monson and Brandon Vera along the way, while Rizzo came up short three times in his bid to win the title, but did notch up big wins over Josh Barnett, Andrei Arlovski, Mark Coleman and Ricco Rodriguez.

There had been talk that the main event was set to be a rematch between Sylvia and Arlovski, but Pro-Elite officials have since denied that is the case. Instead Arlovski is expected to face another former UFC fighter and long-time MMA journeyman, Travis Fulton.

It also believed that BJ Penn’s brother Reagan Penn who was victorious at Pro-Elite’s first show will return, while female fighter Tara LaRosa is also expected on the card.

Last year there was talk of the two men fighting for upstart Australian promotion Impact FC, but the company collapsed and the fight appeared destined not to take place.
