ProElite held the first event of their promotional reboot last night in Hawaii with a show that was filled almost entirely with finishes.

In the main event recently departed UFC fighter Kendall Grove gained revenge over Joe Riggs with a quick submission win. Riggs had come in early and pressed Grove up against the cage, but Grove reacted immediately and wrapped one of his long arms around Riggs neck forcing the tap almost immediately with less than a minute on the clock.

Andrei Arlovski desparately needed a win in Hawaii after four consecutive losses and he found it against Ray Lopez. Arlovski wasn’t able to produce a quick victory however and had to gradually wear Lopez down over three rounds before finally getting on top and finishing him with ground and pound mid-way through the final stanza.

BJ Penn’s brother Reagan Penn made his MMA debut in front of his home fans in Hawaii and immediately evoked memories of his famous sibling with his look, his high level BJJ, flexibility and balance. He looked very relaxed for his first ever fight and made short work of Paul Gardner, stuffing a takedown attempt and then pulling him to the mat and cleverly working to take his back and sink in a rear-naked choke with just 70 seconds on the clock. Impressive.
