Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson has a big fight this coming weekend against Ryan Bader in Japan at UFC 144, but it appears the former light-heavyweight champion would prefer to be going toe-to-toe with another member of the UFC organization.
During an interview with FightersOnlyMag ‘Rampage’ is critical of the promotion’s long-time color-commentator Joe Rogan, accusing him of being biased towards certain fighters and fighting styles.
“I think I would beat the sh*t out of Joe Rogan…as long as he don’t get me to the ground, because his jiu jitsu is really good,” Rampage declares. “I know he’s got good jiu jitsu guy because he’s so biased towards jiu jitsu guys. You can hear it in his voice. Whenever a guy is a jiu jitsu fighter Rogan might as well be playing the rusty trombone like, ‘mmm, he’s a jiu jitsu guy.'”
To be fair it was the interviewer who brought up Rogan’s name in the first place, but ‘Rampage’ went on to reveal that he had a legitimate gripe with his view on the sport.
“I don’t give a f*ck man, I am sick of people putting their…if everyone was a jiu jitsu fighter it would be a boring-ass sport. Everyone is not the same. Some people like to stand and bang, some people like jiu jitsu.”
