Reports suggest that the UFC have finally been able to arrange a blockbuster fight between light-heavyweight stars Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Lyoto Machida.
Rumors of this match-up have been circulating for well over a year, with Rampage originally expected to be the first challenger for Machida when he won the title at UFC 98 in May of 2009, but Jackson has consistently expressed a reluctance to fight the Karate master, calling his style, “boring.”
It appears that he has since had a change of heart though, and will now face the Brazilian at an as yet unannounced event on November 20th.
“Almost ready to sign the bout agreement,” Jackson revealed on his Twitter account last night. “I would tell ya’ll who I’m gonna get down with, but I can’t spell his name. Hahaha.”
Multiple sources have since confirmed that it is Machida that he will be facing.
With both fighters coming off a loss in the last few months it makes sense for them to fight and the winner should find themselves catapulted right back to the top of the division.
