Since his win over James Toney at UFC 118 back in August, UFC hall-of-famer Randy Couture has been hinting that his fledgling acting career could soon bring about an end to his days fighting in the octagon.

Yesterday that transition moved a step closer when Couture revealed at the launch of the EA Sports MMA game that he’s now secured his next acting gig.

“We’re definitely going to start shooting the sequel to ‘The Expendables’ in March,” the star tells MMAWeekly.

The original which was the brain child of Sylvester Stallone featured a host of action stars was a summer smash, raking in over $250,000,000 at the box office worldwide.  It was the perfect vehicle for Couture to put his name on the acting map, but despite being confirmed for the follow-up he’s also hoping to continue to build up his CV.

“I’m looking for another project in the interim, we’ll see what happens.  It’s the interesting business, there’s always something going on.  It’s just a matter of finding the right thing that fits.”

If he doesn’t find something then it is still possible that he could get back into the octagon in the early months of next year.

“I think most of the cards for the rest of this year are pretty set so the soonest it would be would be January or February,” Couture suggested, though he says Dana White has so far not been in touch.

By the sounds of things Couture isn’t in any rush to get that call.
