Results From Last Weeks Ultimate Fighter 11 Poll

Last week we asked you which of the suggested coach pairings from our article ‘Who Should Be The Coaches  For Season 11 Of The Ultimate Fighter‘ you wanted to see on the show. Let’s take a closer look at the results.

In first place was Brock Lesnar Vs Frank Mir with 35% of the vote. Not a great surprise here, Brock Lesnar is the biggest draw in the sport right now, and with a natural rivalry having developed with Frank Mir this would make for great television.

Unfortunately due to timing of Brock Lesnar’s recent illness and postponement of his current title fight with Shane Carwin, he is unlikely to be available to appear on the upcoming series of TUF which is due to start filming in January.

The next most popular coaching pairing was Georges St Pierre Vs Dan Hardy which gained 22% of the vote.  Whether this match-up will become a reality or not will firstly depend on Hardy defeating Mike Swick at this Saturday’s UFC 105 event from Manchester, England.

Following closely behind in third place was Diego Sanchez Vs Kenny Florian with a respectable 20% of the vote.  Whether they get to coach on TUF 11 or not it would seem that many of you would like to see this fight take place in the near future.

Despite being one of the most popular fighters in the sport Wanderlei Silva pairing with Chris Leben ended up in fourth place on our poll with 15%.

Lagging behind in last place though was a fight that was originally scheduled to take place at UFC 106 – Tito Ortiz Vs Mark Coleman.   Only 8% of you wanted to see them on the show.

Thanks to all those who voted.  Here’s the overall poll results:

  • Brock Lesnar Vs Frank Mir: 35%
  • Georges St.Pierre Vs Dan Hardy: 22%
  • Diego Sanchez Vs Kenny Florian: 20%
  • Wanderlei Silva Vs Chris Leben: 15%
  • Tito Ortiz Vs Mark Coleman: 8%

Also last week we asked you if Gina Carano would return to fighting in 2010.  It appears that the majority of you (75%) are convinced she will, despite her upcoming movie work.
