Rich Franklin claimed a famous win over Chuck Liddell at UFC 115 last month which has helped establish himself in the light-heavyweight division, but it appears there’s no chance of a quick return to action for the former middleweight champion.

Franklin’s manager today informed MMAJunkie that the star is likely to be out until December due to the broken arm he suffered during the fight.

The fighter is scheduled to see his doctor on Monday where he will discover whether he needs surgery on his arm or not.

The length of time Franklin is out for will have some bearing on who he eventually fights on his return, but potential bouts with Forrest Griffin, Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson or Lyoto Machida are still possibilities at this stage.
