Rich Franklin Rules Out A Return To Middleweight

Who Rich Franklin will fight next is now open to question after his co-main event bout with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira at UFC 133 was scrapped due to injury.

One possibility that can be completed ruled out however is a return to the middleweight division which he once reigned supreme in before Anderson Silva came, saw and conquered.

“The UFC has basically told me there not interested in having me at 185 any more which is the only reason why I made the move up to 205 in the first place,” Franklin tells MMAWeekly in an interview conducted before his bout with Lil Nog was scrapped.

Unfortunately that means Franklin now has to sit and wait for a chance to get back into the Octagon since the UFC simply doesn’t have enough light-heavyweight’s to go round at the moment due to previously scheduled fights and injuries.
