Rich Franklin received some good news when he visited his doctor to check on the arm which he broke during his victory over Chuck Liddell at UFC 115.
It had initially been feared that he may need surgery, but after wearing a large cast for a number of weeks since the fight it appears that’s no longer the case.
“If it hadn’t healed correctly, they would have had to probably re-break or reset it and put it back in a big cast,” Franklin’s manager told MMAJunkie. “It would have been a setback.”
Instead Franklin has now been fitted with a smaller cast while the healing process continues, and it appears he is now on course to make a return to the octagon at the end of the year.
As for his old cast, which has been signed by both Franklin and Liddell, the plan now is to raffle it for charity. Find out more information at americanfighter.com.
