It’s turning out not to be a good news day for MMA fans. The latest disappointment is that Roger Gracie has pulled out of his light-heavyweight fight with Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal at July’s Strikeforce: Fedor Vs Henderson event due to injury.
Gracie is believed to have been suffering from a lingering stress fracture that also kept him out of the BJJ World Jiu-Jitsu Championships recently and won’t heal in time for the bout.
It’s hoped that the star, who’s cultivated a perfect 4-0 record so far in MMA competition, will be fit to return to the cage in October however.
Gracie’s call-off comes just a day after another major title fight on the card between Paul Daley and Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos was also scrapped due to an injury picked up by the Brazilian in training.
