Anderson Silva has made no secret about the fact that he wants to fight Roy Jones Jr in a boxing match and it appears Dana White may be open to the idea of making his dream come true.

According to White in an interview with Ariel Helwani yesterday, after hearing Silva reiterating his desire to have that fight White phoned up Jones Jr and invited him to come to Saturday’s show where the Brazilian will be aiming to defend his title against Chris Weidman.

“Roy and I have been talking and we’ll see what happens,” was as much as White would say about it though.

It’s puzzling that White would be willing to entertain this idea. For one thing, would he be looking to host a boxing match in the UFC for the first time?

Also, Silva indicated he would be open to the idea of fighting UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones next which would be one of the biggest MMA fight of all time, so why would he be looking to divert attention away from that?

It could be that Jones Jr, now 44, has no intention of fighting Silva and is simply coming to Las Vegas to put these rumors to bed once and for all.

Whatever the case, hopefully all will be revealed tomorrow night.
