Russian UFC fighters Ruslan Magomedov and Zubaira Tukhugov have been suspended from the UFC for two years as the result of failed drug tests dating back as far as October 29th of 2016.
A UFC statement reveals that the two fighters both tested positive for the banned substance Ostarine following out-of-competition tests on that date.
Both fighters protested their innocence, claiming that they had ingested the PED through contaminated supplements, but without evidence to prove it the full two-year suspension has been handed down to both.
As such, Magomedov and Tukhugov won’t be eligble to compete again in the UFC until October of this year.
Prior to his suspension, heavyweight contender Magomedov had compiled a three-fight winning streak in the UFC, defeating Viktor Pesta, Josh Copeland and Shawn Jordan to go 14-1 overall in his MMA career.
As for Tukhugov, the 27-year-old featherweight had gone 3-1, including winning his first three fights in the promotion against Douglas Silva de Andrade, Ernest Chavez and Phillipe Nover.
