Ryan Jimmo Killed After Hit And Run Incident

Former UFC fighter Ryan Jimmo has died after being the victim of a hit-and-run incident in Edmonton, Canada on Sunday morning.

An official police statement stated that the 34 year-old Jimmo was involved in a brief verbal altercation with another driver in the parking lot of a lounge at 2.15am on Sunday morning.

During the confrontation Jimmo had momentarily approached the other vehicle, a pickup truck containing at least two Caucasion males, but then started to walk back to his own car.

As he did so the other vehicle suddenly accelerated and ran him over before speeding off. Jimmo was rushed to hospital where he was declared deceased.

Homicide police in Edmonton are now seeking to apprehend the suspects, who’s vehicle is described as a dark-colored, older-model pickup truck with an extended cab which was customized with a lift kit, oversized tires and clear tail lights.

Jimmo fought a total of seven times for the UFC between 2012 and 2015, earning wins over Anthony Perosh, Igor Pokrajac and Sean O’Connell along the way, but back-to-back losses had led to him being released in the summer of last year.

A regular fixture in the Canadian promotion MFC prior to that, Jimmo compiled an overall 18-5 record during his MMA career.
