Shane Del Rosario Out Of Strikeforce’s June Event Following Car Accident

Strikeforce heavyweight contender Shane Del Rosario, widely believed to be the No.1 alternate for the promotion’s current heavyweight GP, has been forced to pull out of his fight at the Strikeforce: Overeem Vs Werdum event in June after being involved in a car accident.

Del Rosario had been lined up to fight another fast rising heavyweight fighter, Daniel Cormier at the event, but though there’s little information available as to the accident, it’s enough to keep him out of the event.

Rumor has it that a potential No.1 lightweight contender fight between KJ Noons and Jorge Masvidal could be in the works as a replacement, though there’s no official confirmation so far.

The June 18th event will still feature the two remaining quarter-final bouts of the Strikeforce heavyweight GP featuring Alistair Overeem vs Fabricio Werdum and Josh Barnett Vs Brett Rogers, while female star Gina Carano is also expected to compete.
