Shogun Rua Interested In Fighting Anderson Silva And Randy Couture

If you couldn’t tell already by the permanent smile that has adorned his face since he knocked out Lyoto Machida this past weekend, the UFC’s new light-heavyweight champion Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua is pretty happy with the win.

After stating that it was the happiest day of his life in a new interview released today with sherdog.com, Rua was asked how he felt about a possible fight with former champion Randy Couture.

“I would be very happy to fight Randy Couture because he’s a legend, an icon of the sport, someone that I admire so I would be very, very happy to fight him.”

Talking to mmajunkie Shogun suggested that he would also be happy to fight Anderson Silva, or indeed anyone else that the UFC asked him to, with one exception.

The only guy I wouldn’t fight is Wanderlei Silva because he’s a great friend of mine.  Other than that, whoever the show wants me to fight, I’ll fight.”
