Two forthcoming UFC events now have had their headline bouts confirmed by the UFC.

First up, June 26th’s ‘UFC On Versus 4’ event will be headlined by Nate Marquardt Vs Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson, a bout we first announced was in the works yesterday.

“Anthony Johnson has always been one of the largest welterweights in the UFC but now former top middleweight contender Nate Marquardt will drop down and attempt a run at the welterweight title,” UFC president Dana White said of the match-up. “Both of these guys are powerful strikers and grapplers and it should be a great fight.”

A little further down the track, August 27th’s UFC: Rio event also now has a main event, with Anderson Silva defending his middleweight title against Yushin Okami.

The fight will give Silva the opportunity to avenge his last loss to Okami back in January of 2006, when an illegal upkick during a fight in Hawaii led to ‘The Spider’ being disqualified.

According to Silva’s coach Josuel Distak it’s the chance to perform in front of his Brazilian fans that will be his primary motivation though.
