The UFC is set to do big things in 2011 – that’s the verdict of 1,100 sporting executives who responded to a poll set by leading sports-marketing research group TurnkeySE.

Asked which sport outside of the current majors (MLB, NBA, NFL, NASCAR, MLS and the PGA) was set to prosper in the coming year, the UFC (note: apparently ‘MMA’ didn’t come into the equation) outstripped it’s competition such as The X-Games and Indie Car racing with ease, securing 29% of the vote.

In addition the poll showed that Execs are paying more attention to the UFC now than ever before, and appear to be showing more interest in it than any other up and coming sport.
