A comment at the UFC 108 pre-fight press conference by Dana White has left doubt over Steve Cantwell’s health this evening.

Cantwell’s fight with Vladimir Matyushenko was scrapped earlier in the day due to an undisclosed injury.   When asked about the situation, White stated that, “Cantwell has some medical problems, and he might not ever fight again.”

White did not go into specifics which has left many to wonder exactly how serious the situation is for the the former light heavyweight champion of the WEC who is currently 1-2 in his spell in the UFC.

Following up on the story, Sherdog.com’s Loretta Hunt posted the following message on her twitter account earlier.

“Cantwell’s camp said they think he’ll fight again. NSAC says he never submitted all his medicals, but what he did submit was fine thus far..”

As always we will post further news on the fighters condition as and when we get it.
