Strikeforce Challengers 21 proved to be an exciting event last night with the main card delivering a number of first round stoppages.
In the main event Challengers series regular Antwain Britt fell victim to an upset loss after Lumumba Sayers KO’d him in just 28 seconds after a flurry of hooks.
The real big talking point came in the co-main event however when the highly-touted female fighter Ronda Rousey tapped out Julia Budd via an armbar after only 39 seconds.
Rousey used her olympic level Judo skills to quickly close the distance and throw Budd to the canvas and then immediately went to her go-to move – the armbar.
It’s a submission she’s absolutely lethal with as Budd quickly discovered when her arm became dislocated leaving her no option but to tap.
There’s no doubt that ‘Rowdy’ Rousey is a remarkable talent and arguably the most fearsome female fighter to appear on the scene since a certain Cris ‘Cyborg’ Santos.
As a result she should be en-route to a title shot at either 135 or 145lbs before long.
