The official fighter salaries from Saturday night’s Strikeforce: Diaz Vs Daley event have now been released and show that both defending champions were handsomely rewarded for their impressive displays in the cage.

Topping the earners list was welterweight champion Nick Diaz, who, despite often complaining about how little he’s earning, actually walked away from the event with a cool $175,000 in his pocket.

Meanwhile it’s becoming apparent why lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez opted to sign a new deal with Strikeforce as he takes home $150,000.  That’s  also the same figure as former 205lb champion Gegard Mousasi.

Other notable earners on the card included Tatsuya Kawajiri who scored $97,612.50 despite his beatdown at the hands of Melendez, while Shinya Aoki heads back to Japan with $73,637.50.
