The first Strikeforce event of 2010 is set to take place on January 30th in Miami, and new details about the fight card are emerging.
After his first round demolition of Kazuo Misaki on New Years Eve, Melvin Manhoef is now set to make his Strikeforce debut, and according to the Five Ounce Of Pain website Robbie Lawler will be his opponent. If this does prove to be the case then expect a brutal stand-up war that has next to no chance of going the full three rounds should ensue with both men being well known for their knockout power.
Meanwhile another fighter looking to make their debut at the event, former Elite XC champion KJ Noons, may have to wait a while longer after his bout with Billy Evangelista was scrapped due to his opponent suffering an injury. Ariel Helwani at MMAfighting.com reports that Noons is now on stand-by in case another fighter on the card gets injured.
Other bouts expected for the Strikeforce: Miami card include a welterweight title bout between Nick Diaz and Marius Zaromskis, Cyborg Santos defending her women’s lightweight title Vs Marloes Coenen, and both Hershal Walker and Bobby Lashley making their first appearances for the promotion.
