Strikeforce PPV Event Delayed; Major Event Still Planned For July

Soon after Zuffa bought Strikeforce rumors began to surface that the promotion had plans to launch their first pay-per-view event in July, but it appears that this is no longer the case.

According to MMAJunkie those plans are now “on hold” and instead Strikeforce are now targeting a major televised event on Showtime instead within the same timeframe.

Dan Henderson Vs Fedor Emelianenko – a fight originally earmarked to headline the PPV show is now believed to be in the running to front the July 30th show, though it should be stressed that no deal has been made for the bout as yet.

It’s believed that several issues, such as whether the fight should be contested at a catchweight or heavyweight, has delayed an agreement being reached and now UFC CEO Lorenzo Fertitta has now stepped in an attempt to move the negotiations along.
