A new contender in the growing mixed martial arts video game market titled ‘Supremacy MMA’ is due for release next month, and a series of trailers have just been released to help promote the pre-order bonuses available if you purchase the game from stores like Amazon, GAME and PLAY in the UK.
The game has attracted some controversy for it’s decision to portray a seedier, ‘underground’ side to MMA, moving away from the authentic, sports-orientated feel of previous titles like UFC Undisputed and EA MMA, and instead opting for a more arcade-styled button-masher.
It’s already been established that a few known MMA fighters, most notably former UFC star Jens Pulver, will be appearing in the game, but interestingly in one of the latest trailers it’s been revealed that up and coming Strikeforce star Shane Del Rosario will be available as a pre-order bonus character.
Del Rosario holds an 11-0 record and is currently an alternate in the much-talked about Strikeforce Heavyweight GP, so he’s certainly a solid addition to MMA Supremacy’s ranks.
Slightly more curiously, man of many promotions Bao Quach (18-10) who’s fought for a number of promotions, including Shooto, Bellator and Strikeforce over the course of his career is also a pre-order character.
While it’s unlikely that people will be flocking in their droves to get a hold of Quach’s character it’s good to see lesser-known fighters like this getting the chance to be involved in a project like this.
Supremacy MMA hits stores on June 7th for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii. Check out four new trailers for the game below.
