The Korean Zombie Calls Out Jose Aldo

Featherweight champion Jose Aldo is currently out of action due to injury, but his next title fight against Erik Koch is now being earmarked for UFC 153 in Brazil this October, and if he is victorious then there’s a new challenger on the horizon who wants to fight for the belt.

That man is Chan-Sung Jung, better known as ‘The Korean Zombie’ who took to Twitter to let the world know that he’s got his sights set on Aldo’s belt.

“I want Jose Aldo. I will end his reign as a Champion,” the 25 year-old boldly claimed yesterday.

Jung is certainly starting to piece together the kind of form since joining the UFC that could earn him that shot. He picked up a ‘Submission Of The Year’ award for his ‘Twister’ on Leonard Garcia in his debut, then KO’d former No.1 contender Mark Hominick in seven seconds, and followed that up by finishing the highly touted Dustin Poirier with a ‘D’arce Choke’ last month.

‘The Korean Zombie’ has also built up a cult following amongst the hardcore fanbase so he’s a good option for the UFC. The only problem is that it’s unlikely they’ll keep him sitting on the sidelines until the end of the year or beginning of next when Aldo would be ready to fight again, so unless his Erik Koch get’s injured Jung is probably looking at having to win another fight first before getting his title shot.
