Thiago Alves has proved inside the cage that he’s as tough as they come, but after releasing footage of himself before and after the brain procedure he’s just had done I can’t help but feel that the guy is a stud outside the octagon too.

Personally the last thing I’d want is a camera following me around when I was heading into hospital for something like this but Alves is clearly made of sterner stuff, though he was refreshingly honest as he waited to check-in for the procedure, admitting he was feeling “scared to death.”

According to the TMZ website Alves then underwent an eight hour operation to seperate an artery from a vein in his brain. Thankfully the procedure was successful and it is believed the fighter may be able to get back into training in as little as two weeks.

speaking afterwards from the hospital where he will remain for a further two days Alves thanked the UFC for their help and support throughout the past week since the problem was discovered during a routine pre-fight scan.
