FOX Sports 1 today unveiled the schedule for the first few weeks of programming on the network when it launches on August 17th and there’s plenty for UFC fans to get excited about, including three live events in three weeks.

FOX have shown a strong commitment to the UFC with the opening day schedule which is essentially dominated by the promotion.  The channel goes live at 8am with Nascar coverage, but from 3.30pm right through to 11pm at night fans are going to be treated to nothing but MMA action.

It begins with episodes of UFC Ultimate Insider, UFC unleashed and UFC Tonight, and then we head straight into the prelims at 6pm for the evening’s ‘UFC On FOX Sports 1’ live event from Boston with the main card then getting underway at 8pm.

From then on it’s clear that FOX are keen to establish the fact that Wednesday are going to be the UFC’s flagship night on the channel and they are set to hammer the point home by putting live events on both Wednesday, 28th of August and then on Wednesday, 7th of September – a date which will also see the premiere of TUF 18 coached by Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano.

To finish up, sandwiched in-between those two events on Saturday, 31st of August will be the prelims for UFC 164.

So, there’s definitely exciting times ahead and FOX will no doubt be hoping that the buzz surrounding this aggressive schedule will help the UFC’s fan base to quickly adjust to the switch over to FOX Sports 1.
