Three UFC 176 Bouts Moved To UFC 177 And UFC Fight Night 47

With UFC 176 having just been cancelled the promotion are wasting little time in drafting some of the fights to their other upcoming events.

First up, a female bantamweight fight between Shayna Baszler and Bethe Correia has been moved to UFC 177 on August 30th, and event which will be headlined by a bantamweight title rematch between TJ Dillashaw and Renan Barao.

Baszler is a respected veteran of the sport who’s finally looking to make her UFC debut after a disappointing stint on the TUF 18 reality show that saw her lose to eventual winner Julianna Pena.

She faces a tough opponent in Correia who’s currently undefeated in her eight fight career so far, with two of those wins coming inside the Octagon which leaves her placed at No.10 in the official woman’s 135lb rankings.

Meanwhile, August 16th’s UFC Fight Night 47 event in Maine also welcomes on-board two fights from the sinking ship that is UFC 176.

That includes a lightweight fight between the No.10 ranked Bobby Green and Abel Trujillo.

Green has made a good impact in the UFC since joining from Strikeforce early in 2013, earning three victories to date, most notably a decision win over Pat Healy in his last Octagon outing, while trujillo is also coming off a career-boosting KO win over Jamie Varner.

Finally, the event will also take on a flyweight tussle between two top 10 contenders in Jussier Formiga and Zach Makovsky who each hold a recent win over Scott Jorgensen on their records.

UFC Fight Night 47 will be headlined by light-heavyweight’s contenders Ryan Bader and Ovince St. Preux.

Over the years I've watched the UFC develop into the powerhouse it is today, organizations like PRIDE, Strikeforce and WEC rise and fall, and Bellator emerge as a new force on the MMA landscape. Throughout it all I've remained captivated by the sport and I'm excited to cover what comes next here on MMA Insight.
