In a change to the originally billed Strikeforce: Feijao Vs Henderson event on March 5th, middleweight contender Tim Kennedy will now face Dutch striker, Melvin Manhoef.

The original plan was for Kennedy to fight Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller, but that fight was quickly scrapped and Strikeforce Challengers regular Luke Rockhold drafted in as his replacement.

For reasons that have not been made public so far, that fight has also now been consigned to the trash-can, and the Kennedy Vs Manhoef match-up established in it’s place instead.

It’s still an interesting fight, though another tough one for Manhoef who’s Strikeforce debut last January ended in disappointment when he was KO’d by Robbie Lawler.

Coupled with a defeat to Tatsuya Mizuno at DREAM 15, and a kickboxing loss to Gokhan Saki, 2010 was a disappointing year for the dangerous stand-up fighter, and he’ll now be looking to make amends against Kennedy.

Meanwhile Kennedy has been eager to get back into action since losing out in his middleweight title fight with Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza back in August.
