In the last 24hrs Tito Ortiz has started posting more cryptic messages on Twitter suggesting that all is not well with the former champion who is just weeks away from his latest comeback fight against Matt Hamill at UFC 121.
Before we go any further, cast your mind back to February of this year and you may remember that Ortiz was also posting messages of doom and gloom. Before long it emerged that he had been forced to leave his role as a coach on TUF to have major back surgery.
Just a couple of months later a feud between Ortiz and his partner, former adult movie star Jenna Jameson escalated to the point where Ortiz was taken to jail. He was later released without charge and went on to claim that Jameson was suffering from a drug addiction, but just days later the pair reconciled.
With that out of the way, here’s the latest in the ongoing Ortiz saga that seems to have a habit of playing out for all the world to see on twitter.
Things started off OK yesterday with Ortiz declaring his undying love for his other half.
Tito Ortiz: “ppl can talk as much shit as they want about me or Jenna. the love we have for each other and the great support from our fan is the best.” 8:07 AM Oct 8th
Jenna Jameson: “I love @titoortiz so much it almost hurts….. even after 6 years, he makes me have butterflies abut 17hrs ago”
So far, so sickly sweet, but just hours later it seems that Ortiz mood soured.
Tito Ortiz: “the biggest betrayal in a relationship is telling lies. The worse is when everything is lost because of them. I’ve gave it my all.” about 11 hours ago
Tito Ortiz: keep my eye on the goal. F*ck everything else.” about 10 hours ago
Tito Ortiz: ” just got done training. going on a run. late night run n BigBear. I’ve never had feelings like this. :(” about 8 hours ago
So once again we’re left to wonder exactly what he’s talking about. The good news is that knowing Ortiz and Jameson, the full details of their latest debacle will emerge either on twitter or TMZ before you know it.
Whatever it is it’s hardly the ideal preparation for Ortiz upcoming fight on October 23rd. This will be his second comeback from major surgery in the space of a year, and if he doesn’t emerge victorious it would leave him with a record of 1-4-1 in the past four years and would bring in to question whether he has a future in the UFC.
