Many people had expected that Tito Ortiz last loss to Matt Hamill, which left him without a win in five fights would bring an end to the former champions time in the UFC.

Even Dana White appeared to hint after the UFC 121 show that the end was nigh for him, but it appears he’s since had a change of heart.

White today confirmed to MMAJunkie that plans are afoot to pit Ortiz against Antonio Rogerio Noguiera in March of next year, with UFC 128 in Abu Dhabi expected to host the fight.

If it becomes official then this is a major lifeline for Ortiz, handing him a bigger name opponent than in his last fight and a chance to redeem himself and regain credibility.

It’s almost certain this will be the last chance saloon for him though and Lil Nog is an extremely tough opponent to be attempting to revive your career against.
