Former UFC fighter Todd Duffee has been removed from the DREAM 17 fight card just a few days before the event is scheduled to take place after he picked up an injury.
Duffee had been expected to face Nick Gaston at the show on Saturday as he looked to turn around a two-fight losing streak in 2010 and remind everyone why he was at one stage considered one of the UFC’s top heavyweight prospects.
Though this is unfortunate news the DREAM card still has plenty of interesting fights on tap including the final of the recent bantamweight grand-prix and two further title fights.
The biggest disappointment for overseas fans of the promotion however is that so far there’s no indication that the event will be airing live at this stage. HDNet usually broadcast DREAM events, but they didn’t do so for the DREAM: Fight For Japan event recently, and it seems the same is true of Saturday’s show.
