Tryone Spong Breaks Leg In Glory Kickboxing Bout

Kickboxing star and current World Series Of Fighting competitor Tyrone Spong suffered an horrific Anderson Silva style leg break last night at Glory 15.

In the first round Spong threw a leg kick that was checked by Gokhan Saki’s knee causing his right shin bone to shatter.

Like Silva, the 28 year-old Spong now faces a very lengthy recovery process and is unlikely to be seen back in the cage or ring for a year at the very least.

It’s very unfortunate as Spong had been in great form recently, winning 10 kickboxing bouts in a row, while simultaneously embarking on an MMA career that’s so far seen him go 2-0.

Spong had been set to return to the WSOF cage in July against an as yet unannounced opponent.
