There’s finally some good news for The Ultimate Fighter Season 13 this week as the latest episode on Spike TV pulled in the best ratings since the season opener.

To be precise the fifth episode pulled in an average audience of 1.5 million viewers, up 200,000 on the previous week.  In addition the episode drew a 1.3 household rating, along with a 1.3 for men aged 18-49, and a 1.4 for men aged 18-34.

There’s no definitive reason for the welcome upturn in viewers, though the interest in this weekend’s UFC 129 event may have something to do with it.

Despite the increase TUF 13 is still lagging behind it’s predecessor, with TUF 12: GSP Vs Koscheck having posted 1.9 million viewers at the same stage last year.
